Shoot That Shug : Me as a model #2

I love nude photography because it is pure. When I say pure I mean that the model has nothing to show if only her/his true self. As a model I enjoy doing nudes because it helps me focus on who I am and I want in photography.
On this Shoot That Thursday discover my true self through Alan Cat lense.

Who ? Alan Cat

Wanted. So far that I remember, this was my first shoot with Alan Cat and he just never gave me any directions. He just wanted to capture me as natural as I was.

Feeling. I suddenly wanted to post this photo because of Adrian Carmody, a photographer I will soon tell you about. Reading how he considers nude recalled me of the time I began posing undressed. The process was natural. At the beginning I didn’t want to pose nude because of my family eventhough I didn’t feel shy about showing  my body. I think that everything went smoothly because I met the right photographers, and Alan is part of them.
In my region (Bordeaux, France) Alan is a well-known nude photographer. So when he proposed me to shoot with him I was all excited because it meant that I had evolved as a model. At that time I was less shy in front of a camera and my stone like facial expressions began to vanish away. With Alan I began doing nudes where not only my body shapes were important but also my facial expressions. Alan spoke to me a lot while shooting so that my natural self would come out more easily. I laughed, I got nostalic, I got strong, I got sweet and I got angry just like on the picture I am showing you. Alan just made me do this only SPEAKING with me. I wasn’t even aware that I used so much facial expressions. It’s only when we selected the photos together that I noticed I had evolved, I wasn’t the same model as before.
To pose nude it needs guts or total carelessness, and above all the relationship between the photographer and the model must be based on trust as the goal of both of them is to produce beautiful pictures.

    1. Hello !

Thank you for your comment, I was so anxious after I posted it on the blog. I even received a message from my brother saying it was a little bit too "osé" but as I want to share my experiences in photography I cannot skip me doing nudes.

If you have the occasion I highly recommand you to try posing if you know some photographers, obviously not nude but even portraits are very good to express yourself and help you being less shy ;).

      Take care !

  2. Kudos to your courage ! Your picture is great.... absolutely love your pose, the expression in your eyes and the hair (lovely texture!) Agree with you on this, that in nude photography, there's nothing to show but yourself. But its still a taboo in this part of the world.

    1. Hello Swati,

Thank you for your comment and your compliment about my picture !
That's why I found interesting nude photography, it a taboo and yet when we are born we are naked. I think we associate so much nudity to sexuality that we totally forget that it embodies who we are before embodying sexuality. Hope people will come to understand it !
