As you (should) know, on fridays, on Incognito, It's All About the Bassline.
I choose for you the best of the week's future garage releases.
One of my reflexes now when I find a new artist whose work I really enjoy is to check out his age. More and more emergent future garage artists are teenagers: Morning High, Shutta, Polkadot, xxyyxx, Disclosure… Of course, the main reason is probably the easiness with which one can now share its art (internet, soundcloud, youtube...). However, their strength is what some may call naivety but what I call passion. No matter their age, it is their passion for music that gives them the necessary maturity to create intricate tracks with absolutely great atmospheres. The best ones don't try to copy or imitate their favorite artists but really try for themselves to find their own style and musical mark.
The HUGE release of the week is the new track of the duo Disclosure: Control ft. Ria Ritchie. Now hold tight: the pair is composed of two brothers of 16 and 18 years old ! The maturity of their track is amazing.
Control oscillates between house and post-dubstep. However the balance between the two is perfect and creates an amazing contrast. Control is definitely the keyword for this song, control of the musical elements: the house melody and house vocals paired with the right amount of wobble bass.
Absolute B.
