Glasses' story : an answer to Garance Doré

Today on MoodStyle Monday we speak about glasses. It's Garance Doré who made me want to talk about them. So let me introduce you to my glasses !

I am part of the girls who where their glasses all the time. I wear them since I am 5 years old. I am myopic, short-sighted, blind as a bat since this day when I was smacked in the face by a ball during playtime. Obviously this poor ball is not to blame for my myopia, but it was thanks to it that we discovered that I couldn't see a thing. If my eyes weren't as big as the ones of a black moor ( if you don't know what a black moor is have a look to the picture below) I would have been blind as a bat for a very long time.

In case you didn't know what a black moor was..

Until my arrival in Italy I didn't care much about the aesthetic of my glasses. I was wearing them to be able to see and not to be pretty. What changed my mind ? Italian people ! They all wear beautiful glasses, branded AND horribly expensive but oh so stylish. They know how to pick them in function of their personality, style, in brief I know I am repeating myself but they have taste. This is precisely why when my dull glasses got old I decided to go for a pair with more personality.

For me more personality meant having thicker frames just like the pair on the back of the picture. No pattern, nothing eccentric, they are my everyday glasses but nonetheless they still have some personality as they are noticable.
The glasses on the top of the picture are a present by my friend Chul. South Korea is a real paradise (or hell..it's up to you to choose !) for every fashionista. Few days before my departure to Italy, Chul and I went to Dongdaemun (one of the trendiest area for the shoppers and stylists who come here in search of fabric) to do some shopping and it's there that he brought me to his optician. I wanted to change glasses, get some who were more eccentric, to tell you the truth I already had an idea of what I wanted as I had this picture in mind :

I wanted white and thick frames, reminding the style of the 70's. I still want them now, but this day the optician didn't have this model in white. Indeed these glasses are nothing discret but as I already had classic and chic glasses I wanted something crazy to wear during night out. To console me for not finding what I desired, Chul picked and offered me these oh so geek but also oh so special glasses. This pair has indeed the shape of the usual geek glasses but their originality is in their leopard pattern. Moreover, the colour is discret enough for me to be able to wear them during  the day but also when I go to party.

And you how do you choose your glasses ? (and a big thanks to Chul !)
