Firstly found in a thrift shop by my dad in France, today I'm wearing my Valentino dress in Italy, motherland of the great stylist. I may not live in Lombardy, Valentino's birth region, but this little detail didn't stop me from finding the right setting to show you off my vintage dress.
The ex Santa Lucia church is on Via Castiglione, one of the most famous streets of Bologna. It's my flatmate and photographer Mariagiovanna
who discovered it. Since then she couldn't help it but falling in love with this church. So it was natural for her suggesting it as a setting for one of my outfits. I must admit that I totally agree with her choice because Santa Lucia is not your typical church :
Before coming to Bologna I had no idea what an unfinished church looked like. Now I do ! Indeed the Santa Lucia Church was never built to its end and it's that very detail which makes it special. Unfinished churches seem to be a characteristic of Bologna as the San Petronio Basilic which is on Piazza Maggiore is also unfinished. It seems to be a conscious choice by the City Hall to let these monuments in this state instead of finishing their construction. Currently this church is used by the University of Bologna.
A typical Bologna house with its orange walls and green shutters. I chose to show you this photo because this house surprised me by its architecture. It is "attached" to the ex church, something that I had never seen in France but that I am seeing a lot here at Bologna. In my mind a church is always on a square with nothing else around. What I love the most about Bologna is that even hough churches and houses were not built at the same time, their combination together always please me.

And here is the famous Valentino dress !
Gold perfectly matches with the color of this dress hence my choice in jewels. The turquoise of my ring just like the green of my headscarf and the blue of my earring are here to give more personnality to this outfit.
