Yesterday, for the second time I was invited by Luisa Via Roma for the Firenze4ever party. The dress code: "Fashion Super Heroes".
The dress code really gave me a hard time eventhough I love american comics. Be it on paper or on screen the X-Men, Superman, Batman, Catwoman, Captain Marvel, Spiderman, and Hulk
are heroes that have always passionated me thanks to their stories. I consider comics the mythology the American don't have: the super heroes and their enemies are just like us, human, just like the Greek and Roman gods were a portrait for us European. Reading these comics is also an occasion to learn about the American society, that is why I love them so much.
But loving super heroes doesn't make an outfit as the difficulty consists in giving your own interpretation of your hero with your clothes. The first one I thought about was Superman because despite his incredible strength and origins (Krypton which is an other planet) he demonstrates to be the one with the most weaknesses, so the most human in my opinion. Now that I gave you my "logical" reason here is the real one:
Christopher Reeves will stay forever (and ever) THE real Superman in my mind. When being Clark Kent, I can't help but finding him some similarities with Yves Saint-Laurent because of his hairstyle and glasses. When being Superman, I love his famous "S" bangle.
I wanted to impersonate this hero combining the colors he is known for BUT on my own way. I started with blue (and red) that I incorporated by touches:
And here is my outfit:
I tried to do the Superman bangle but I didn't succeed in doing it. This last detail explains the very 80's hairstyle (a hairstyling tutorial is coming !). Then, I decided to recall the red color thanks to my lipstick and earrings.
Red heels would have been a little bit too much with this outfit, that's why I opted for black ones.
And voilà !
