Every Friday, Incognito provides you with a selected song or album that meets the criteria of our Music Manifesto, that is to say songs with a solid bass line and which vibrations have the power to penetrate our soul to reach our sensibility. Also, you can visit our music sanctuary on
Metronomy issued in April of last year what probably was one of the best albums of the year: The English Riviera. But it always takes me a while to fully listen to an album and appreciate what it means without being biased by the praising critics. Now that Christmas is over and that the new year has started, I'm looking forward to the sunny days and I'm feeling a little nostalgic. The moment couldn't be better to finally embrace this great album completely.
The introductory song announces it all: the gulls, the ebb and flow of the sea. It’s an album about summer memories and nostalgia; a wave of dopeness coming from the depth of the sea. It’s refreshing and rousing; it’s pop, real electro-pop the way we like it. I chose The Bay to represent this album. The bass line is amazing and you can hear that the melody is simple yet very sophisticated compared to their previous albums. And the video clip is absolutely tremendous. It kind of looks like a James Bond video
Mood of the song: Picture yourself and some friends during your last day of summer vacation. You're drinking a Pink Lady on a terrasse facing the sea.
If you’re a guy, you’re wearing a light blue polo shirt tucked in beige linen pants; a gold vintage casio watch on your wrist and Club Master Rayban sunglasses on your nose.
If you’re a girl, you’re wearing a light blue polo shirt tucked in a navy blue short pleated skirt. Raban Cats sunglasses and silver cuff bracelets are your accessories.
