Cat Deeley,
host of the American show So You Think You Can Dance, was just nominated for an
Emmy in the Outstanding Host catergory.
Indeed not only does Miss Deeley light up the show thanks to her british accent
and her beautiful smile, but she also always wears great outfits. 5 ft 9,
ex-mannequin, she nonetheless has no cause to be envious of the new designers’
muses. Twice a week, she puts on magnificent dresses she chooses herself
according to her inspiration (most of the time a book or a movie she liked) as
well as a pair of high heels in order to host the show. Her blond hair that
earned her to be the face of Panthen in the UK , are always done with care. That
is why, twice a week, thousands of fashionistas get excited on hearing the
voice off announcing “Now welcome your host, Cat Deeley !”.
This
post will then be the occasion to decode Miss Deeley’s style through the
different outfits she wore for the Season 8's So You Think You Can Dance primes that she presented.
This year
for the eighth season of the show, two trends seem to come out of the outfits
selected by Cat Deeley and her Glamour Squad. First, the spring trend, which is
very well illustrated by the first dress, stands out.
It is a
strapless vintage dress of a lemon yellow color on which is superimposed a lace
top with short sleeves. The fact that it is knee-length allows the outfit to be
more mature. The shoes, signed Signo Rossi, are open-toes and golden. This
outfit then seems to be perfect for the first days of spring.
The second
dress couldn’t fit more in the spring trend. It looks like it was
splash-painted in order to depict a flower arrangement. We can notice the
pockets which give to the dress a casual touch as well as the boho accessories.
Special mention should be made of the white shoes coming to the ankle with two
buckles.
Finally,
the last dress of the spring trend is signed Tom Ford. Her hair was brought
back in order not to overload the outfit and to show a stand-up collar and
motives of branches and buds; the whole reminding us of the Japanese cherry
blossoms.
One good example is the Elie
Tahari dress cinched at the waist with a studded belt worn with spiked black
shoes. Her hair has the right amount of volume for a look that almost seems
like that of a warrior.
More glamorous
is the anthracite dress with silver embroidery. Cat’s hair is tucked to create
a faux bob and she wears Dior earrings for a Marion Cotillard look, Cat
Deeley’s inspiration.
Because as I have said before, she does not have a stylist but she picks her own outfits herself. We can then salute her effort to keep her own style.
So yes, Miss Deeley can definitely dress !

I don't watch so you think you can dance, but I must agree Cat has impeccable style. My favourites are the paint styled floral dress and the anthracite dress.
