«So cute !» That is everybody’s reaction on seeing baby shoes. The
little size, the small-scale model of an adult reality make these objects
especially cute for the parents. Who has never been excited in front of size 2
flip flaps or beach sandals for fashionable little girls?
Fashion brands noticed that and are now proud of their success. If
babies have to wear well-fitting shoes for their first steps, their allies are
now Converse, Nike, Adidas and so many others, and the models sell like hot
cakes if we take into account the time they will be worn. For instance a pair
of Nike can cost parents 55 Euros (80$). But can we blame them? How can they resist
to such cute shoes when their baby is the cutest one in the world?
The calling into question can then be directed towards the brands. Isn’t
the commercial strategy going to drive the babies into a questionable
instrumenting? And above all, does
fashion always rhymes with quality and therefore security ?

As regards
the parents, beware to the excesses or Suri Cruise and her size 2 high heels
will embody the babies’ future. And overdressing the babies can lead to
excesses, especially in this time of controversy regarding children fashion
models photographed in suggestive poses and dressed as women. Let’s give the
children time to be children.

It's incredible how the cult of brands influence kids nowadays. Kindergarden kids asking their parents for brand new clothes/ the last games console.Parents buying their children all they ask for because "all their friends have that, and I don't want my children to be different". For sure, that's easier than teach them than they don't need to have something brand new to be accepted. Ps. The heel thing is absolutely absurd, heels are pretty detrimental for knees & spine, actually they're highly not recommended until grown period ends.
ReplyDeleteAw Suri Cruise is the ultimate stylish kid pin up. I love kids shoes there's something so adorable about them and imagining those feet growing as well.

Awww, children's shoes are just so cute. Sometimes I'd like to have a baby just to be able to get them such beautiful shoes and clothes, but then I realise that children are not dolls. Indeed, Suri Cruise is just too much. A child doesn't have to be fashionable! I remember when I was a child, I hated when my mum dressed me "cute": I just wanted to be normal, to wear comfortable clothes! I hated accessories and cute dresses, I just wanted to wear trousers and T-shirt. If that was what I thought when I was a child, I can't imagine what it's like for Suri Cruise when she wears heels and dresses like a grown-up. Why can't parents let their children be just children?

I'm kind of on the fence when it comes to baby shoes. Yes I find them utterly adorable, but over here they cost so much. But the thing is babies grow so fast, and will soon outgrow those shoes. I can fit into shoes I bought last year, but a 18 month old won't be able to fit into the shoes that they had when they were 12 months. So to me spending so much money on something will only be used for a short period of time is a waste, but I don't know I'm not a parent so, I guess it might make sense to some.
